Description
6 Angel Street is a house that has been converted into an inn. It was originally built around 1800 and has been refronted from an earlier property, with later additions and alterations. The building features stucco over brick and has a renewed plain tile roof, with brick stacks at the left rear and right end, both topped with oversailing courses and pots.
The structure is three storeys high and has five first-floor windows. The stucco detailing includes a chamfered plinth, a rusticated ground floor, and a continuous panel at the first-floor level, which is topped by a first-floor sill band. The windows on the ground and second floors have tooled architraves and sills. The first floor features 6/6 flush sash windows, while the second floor has 3/3 flush sashes, except for the second window, which is fitted with a metal grill. The ground floor has four 1/1 horned sash windows, and the entrance, located off-centre to the right, has a four-raised-and-fielded-panel door with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, all set within a pilastered doorcase topped with an open pediment.
Inside, the ground floor showcases chamfered and boxed beams. The building forms a good group with Nos 1, 1A, and 3 Angel Street.
