Description
Barge Lock No. 1, located adjacent to the River Severn, was built around 1815. It is constructed of red brick and features stone copings and wooden double gates. This lock is part of a group that includes Barge Lock No. 2. Historically, these two locks enabled boats to access the Diglis Lock Basin from the River Severn, allowing passage to the Worcester-Birmingham Canal.
