Description
Meadow View, Eastleigh, and the former manse attached to its south-west, are houses dating from 1851. Originally a chapel and manse, the buildings were founded by the Countess of Huntingdon’s Connexion. The chapel is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with a hipped slate roof. It was originally a single storey, but now includes an inserted floor. The east wall of the chapel features three tall sash windows with glazing bars and round heads, with doorways featuring round heads and fanlights flanking the central window. Above the central window is a stone plaque inscribed “1851.” Chimneys are visible behind the ridge. The return wall facing south is two storeys high and has four bays, with sash windows and glazing bars, except for the first-floor window on the left. A wing that formed part of the manse adjoins at right angles; its east wall has a single bay containing a doorway with a round head to its right.
