Description

Wharley Hall is a large brick house dated 1669 above the doorway. It has tiled roofs, mostly hipped, and a brick cornice. The main block, two storeys high with attics, is divided into nine bays by pilasters on its east front, with three bays on the north and south sides. A central two-storey block features a recessed doorway and an oblong fanlight, surrounded by a cornice supported on cut brackets. Connected to the main block is a single-storey and attic west wing. The windows are flush-sash and casement types, with glazing bars, and include gabled and box dormers. The house has arched, panelled red brick chimneystacks. Wharley Hall is part of a group with the adjacent barn.
