Description
Walford Hall Farmhouse is a 15th-century hall house featuring cross wings, located on the north side of Solihull Road in Hampton-in-Arden. The building underwent alterations in the 16th century, which included raising the hall roof and adding a first floor. The west wing was rebuilt in the 16th century, while the east wing has been partially refaced in red brick. The structure combines timber framing with red brick nogging set on stone foundations. It has an old tiled roof with gables, which oversail at the south end of the west wing. A notable feature is the 16th-century red brick chimneystack, which has three star plan shafts and elaborately moulded caps. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has flush casement windows with glazing bars arranged in a 1:2:1 pattern.
