Description
The footbridge over the Netherton Tunnel branch at Windmill End Junction is a mid-19th century structure. It is made of cast iron with brick abutments that have sandstone dressings. The bridge features a single shallow segmental arch, and its sides are designed with a lattice pattern of saltire crosses. The inscription "TOLL END WORKS" is also present. The Netherton Tunnel was opened in 1858, the same year the Bumble Hole loop of the Dudley number 2 canal was straightened during the construction of the tunnel.
