Description
The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady and St Thomas was built in 1842 and designed by the architect Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. Constructed from local stone, it is designed in the Early English style and features a nave, aisles, chancel, and a south porch. The facade includes triple lancet windows and a rose window above, with a bellcote on top of the gable. Inside, the chancel is frescoed, and there is a brass from 1853. Pugin described this church as "a complete facsimile of one of the old English parish churches, and nobody seems to know how to use it."
