Description

The drinking fountain located in the Market Place of Dudley was built in 1867 and designed by James Forsyth, who also created the Perseus Fountain at Witley Court in Worcestershire. It was presented by the Earl of Dudley and is made from local stone. The fountain showcases a flamboyant Italian Renaissance style, featuring extensive sculpture and bas-reliefs. Its design includes a triumphal arch motif, which is topped with a central figure and flanked by reclining horses.
