Description

The Parish Church of St Paul, built in 1880 by J A Chatwin, features a rock-faced Bath stone west front facing the road, with brick at the back and a slate roof. The church is designed in a Perpendicular style, with the exception of the end aisles, an apsidal east end, and a bold, square north-west tower. Coupled shafts delineate the chancel from the nave, which has squat round piers adorned with lush foliage on the capitals. The open timber roof is supported by shafts that rise from above the piers and the apexes of the arches. Inside, there is a large round pulpit.
