Description
St Laurence Church of England Infant School was built in 1837, with exterior modifications made in 1870. The building is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. Originally, the school comprised a two-storey Master's house with decorative barge boards on the gabled front, alongside a one-storey schoolroom. The original doorways and windows have pointed heads and interlacing glazing bars. There are one-storey additions on the church mill front that also have matching barge boards. An extension on the south side includes a range of five pairs of windows with pointed heads, and the roof is half-hipped at the ends.
