Description
Nos 14, 14A, 17, 18, and 19 Castle Green are a group of simple cottages dating from the 16th century. They feature a combination of timber-frame construction, later brickwork, and elements of earlier sandstone and wattle-and-daub. The cottages are single storey with an attic, and the left gable is hung with plain tiles. The early 19th-century casements are present, and Nos 14 and 14A have old tiles along with brick stacks. Nos 18 and 19 have been rebuilt but retain their original timber framework. All the listed buildings on Castle Green form a group.
