Description

The property at 26 and 28 Bilton Road dates to the earlier 19th century, before 1849. It is constructed of stucco with a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate. The building is three storeys high and features sash windows; eight windows to the second floor, four to the first and ground floors. The ground floor windows are distinguished by eared architrave surrounds, each with a frieze and pediment, incorporating two inner, segmental pediments. A sill band runs across the first floor, accompanied by architrave surrounds to the windows. The second floor has a sill band and vertical window architraves, all set under an entablature, topped with a plain parapet. Giant Doric pilasters are prominent on the upper floors. A Doric porch contains a fanlight and half-glazed door, set within an architrave surround flanked by rusticated walling. Numbers 26 to 32 (even) form a group.
