Description
Footbridge over the junction of the Coventry and Oxford Canals, dated 1837 and designed by J. Sinclair. It is made of cast iron, with English bond brick abutments featuring rounded stone and blue brick copings. The footway has a segmental arch and is cast in three sections, topped with an X-framed openwork parapet over a basket arch, which includes openwork spandrels. There is a cast inscription that reads: '1837 BRITANNIA FOUNDRY DERBY J. SINCLAIR ENGINEER'. Sinclair served as the engineer for the Coventry Canal Company.
