Description

This chest tomb, located approximately 30 meters south of the southwest corner of the south aisle of the Church of All Saints, dates from 1836 and 1849. It is made of sandstone and features slate panels and a slate top. The tomb has a moulded plinth and wide angle balusters. It bears inscriptions commemorating Christiana Evans (1836) and Robert Evans, who were the parents of the author George Eliot.
