Description
The remains of a dovecote, possibly dating back to the medieval period, are located approximately 32 meters east of the remains of Alvecote Priory. The structure is built from coursed sandstone rubble and features a 20th-century concrete flat roof. It has a square plan and appears to have been reduced in height over time. On the south-west side, there is a low chamfered doorway with a large lintel, although the left jamb has been replaced with late 20th-century brick. Inside, the dovecote contains nest boxes.
