Description
The Hancock memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 3 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. Margaret in Draycott-in-the-Moors. It likely dates from the mid to late 18th century, although it commemorates Jane Hancock, who died in 1699, suggesting it may have been postdated. The tomb is made of stone and features a moulded plinth, inset waisted balusters at the corners, a moulded top slab, and inscribed sides. Overall, the design indicates that it is more characteristic of the late 18th century than the 17th century.
