Description
The Leek Memorial is an obelisk located adjacent to the south side of the chancel of the Church of St Edward in Cheddleton. It commemorates Ralph Leek, who died in 1795, and is signed at the base by G. Hunt of Hanley. The memorial is made of stone and features a heavy plinth with an inscribed die that tapers into a chamfer at the upper edges. The top of the obelisk is finished with blind trefoil-headed lucarnes on its faces. G. Hunt was known for creating many memorials in the area.
