Description
The eastern stable range at Dieu-la-Cres Abbey Farm is a stable building dating from around 1820. It is constructed from stones taken from the 13th-century abbey of Dieu l'Acres, featuring coursed and squared stone with slate roofs. The building is single-storeyed and has three stable doors, along with inserted double doors towards the right. It is decorated with fragments of worked stone, including corbel heads from the abbey. The interior has not been inspected. This stable range is part of a group that includes the byre and western stable range of Dieu-la-Cres Abbey Farm, as well as the farmhouse. Together, these buildings exemplify the intentional reuse of early materials, reflecting a type of antiquarianism.
