Description
This churchyard cross, located approximately 15 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St Edward, is possibly from the 15th century and was restored by G.G. Scott Junior in 1876. It is made of stone and features a circular, stepped base with four tiers. The square shaft stands about 2 meters high and has a column applied to each face. The capital and head are floral-banded, showcasing work by Scott in collaboration with William Morris, which depicts the instruments of the Passion in gabletted niches. At the top, there is a short cusped cross. This cross serves as the centerpiece of a quintessential English churchyard.
