Description
Nos. 27-33 on London Street is a terrace of four houses built around 1820, featuring weavers' garrets. The exterior is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with blue headers and has a plain-tiled roof. The terrace is three storeys high, with each house having a two-window range. The doorways and lower three-light casement windows have cambered heads, although many of the windows have been renewed in their original openings. No. 31 includes a tripartite shop window with a moulded architrave and a shallow cornice. The first floor features Gothick arched windows with Y-tracery, primarily made of cast-iron glazing. The attic storey has long horizontal garret windows, also renewed in their original openings. The rear elevation previously had similar windows, but most have been renewed or blocked. There is a round-arched passage entry located between Nos. 31 and 33, and a plain brick eaves band runs along the top. The buildings have axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
