Great Haywood Post Office is part of an early to mid 19th century layout leading to Essex Bridge. The building is constructed of roughcast brick and features a hipped slate roof with a central brick stack. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window front with sash windows. The doorway is adorned with Doric columns and a pediment.
