Description

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption, built in 1868-1869, is a Roman Catholic chapel designed by architect Gilbert Blount. It is located next to Swynnerton Hall. The chapel is constructed in a late 13th century Gothic style, reminiscent of the work of Augustus Pugin, under whom Blount studied. The building is made of stone and features a tiled roof. It includes a nave with a gallery, a south arcade (ritually south), a chancel with a public chapel on the west side, and a bellcote. The interior is richly decorated, and the chapel is noted for its architectural interest.
