Description

Pitt's Column, erected in 1806 by the first Earl of Harrowby, is a monumental stone Doric column standing 75 feet high. It features an urn finial atop a square base and is modeled after Trajan's column. The column is surrounded by wrought iron railings and serves as a memorial to the notable Prime Minister, Pitt the Younger.
