Description

The boundary wall and gates, located approximately 10 meters west of the Church of St Chad, were built around 1875 by Sir Gilbert Scott. The wall is about 10 meters long and constructed from ashlar and timber. It features a plain plinth and offset coping, with shallow buttresses flanking the gates. The gates are made of stile and rail construction, adorned with finials on the stiles and brattishing on the top rail. They include three solid panels and three enriched wrought-iron panels. This structure is included for its group value.
