Description
White Holly Farmhouse, along with its garden railings and gate, is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century with an early 19th-century addition. It is constructed of red brick with an orange brick addition and features hipped plain tile roofs, a brick ridge stack, and lateral external stacks. The 18th-century section is located to the south-west and is aligned north-west to south-east, while the early 19th-century range is to the north-east, also aligned north-west to south-east.
The north-east elevation of the farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with wedge lintels that are grooved as voussoirs and fluted keys. The window on the first floor to the right is blocked and painted to imitate glazing bars. The upper part of the ground floor window to the right is also blocked, indicating a change in floor levels. Small four-pane sashes with horns flank a central four-panelled door that features a panelled doorcase, a rectangular overlight, and a bracketed hood.
The south-east elevation is similarly two storeys high and has four windows, again with glazing bar sashes and wedge lintels grooved as voussoirs and fluted keys, although the first-floor windows are of reduced proportions. There is a central vertical joint between the two building phases. Additionally, cast iron railings and a gate enclose the north-east side of the front garden.
