Description
These gate piers with an attached wall, railings, and gates form the main entrance to Little Aston Hall, dating from circa 1900. The structure is built of ashlar stone and wrought iron. Two large ashlar gate piers feature recessed panels and carved cornices supporting urns with carved flowers. Elaborate wrought iron carriage gates are positioned between them. Smaller ashlar gate piers, also with recessed panels and moulded cornices supporting ball finials, flank the main piers, with pedestrian gates set between. Low, curved stone boundary walls are attached to the gate piers and terminate in similar piers topped with ball finials, incorporating 20th-century iron railings.
