Description
The former stables immediately north-west of Elswick House are now used as a garage. They date from the early to mid-18th century and are constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof featuring raised verges. The building is aligned north-south and faces east. It is one storey high with an attic and has toothed eaves. There are three roof bays, with garage doors located in the center and to the right. On the ground floor to the left, there is a casement window with a segmental head, and a gabled dormer to the left contains a glazing bar casement. Additionally, there is a door to the left with a segmental head. The north gable includes a loft opening with a segmental head. This former stable is prominently positioned alongside Elswick House and is noted for its group value.
