Description
No. 185 on Horninglow Street is a shop with accommodation above, originally built in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with a plastered front and features a plain tile roof with gabled ends. There is an axial stack with a rebuilt brick shaft.
The building has an L-shaped plan, with the original front range and a 19th-century wing at the rear of the left end. It stands two to three storeys tall, with an asymmetrical two-bay south front. The ground floor has a large 20th-century shop front on the right and a plate glass window on the left. The right-hand bay features a large 12-pane sash window, while the left side has a 12-pane sash window on the first floor and a 6-pane casement window with glazing bars on the second floor. The 19th-century wing on the right has similar windows on its east side. The interior has not been inspected.
