Description

The Grange is a large, detached house situated within its own grounds. It largely dates to the 17th century, although it incorporates an earlier core. The house is timber-framed, with brick and stone detailing, and has a tiled roof and brick stacks. The design features projecting bays on either side, each topped with Dutch gables. There are two storeys, and a two-storeyed porch bay projects from the centre. The front has nine windows, most being casement windows with leaded lights. A plastered, segmental-headed doorway is visible. Parapets run along the roofline. An earlier, massive stone chimney is incorporated into the east side; this was subsequently restored using brick. The interior has been altered, but retains exposed ceiling beams.
