Description
Nos 5 to 9 on High Street are a building with a mid-18th century facade that conceals an early 17th century core, along with early 19th century additions. The structure is made of red brick and stands three storeys tall, featuring six sash windows with original glazing bars, except for two left-hand bays that were added in the early 19th century in a style that mimics the original. The facade is characterized by moulded segmental lintels and channelled keyblocks throughout. On the north side, there is an exposed restored timber-framed gable. The building has two adjoining recessed doorways and later stuccoed corbelled eaves. Modern brick stacks and tiles are present, and one of the ground storey windows has been converted into a small shop window.
