Description
The former police station and court room, built around 1820, is located on Waterloo Street in Ironbridge. This two-storey building features blue brick construction with stone and yellow brick dressings. The front facade includes four sash windows set within moulded stone architraves, complete with keyblocks and segmental heads, and brick quoins at the sides. The ground floor has an open arcade supported by four segmental stone arches, also with keyblocks, and is adorned with cast-iron railings and a central gate flanked by iron posts. There is a doorway at the rear with a fanlight and a studded batten door. The eaves are supported by brick corbel brackets, and the building is topped with a hipped slate roof. At the rear, there is a former court room wing.
