Description
Church House and School is a building from 1852, located in Hartshill, Stoke on Trent. It is constructed of stone with plain tiled roofs. The school house, situated to the east, is two storeys high and raised on a high basement. It features a central gathered chimney flanked by paired trefoiled lights, along with a two-light window set into the stack. The south front has a gable that includes a six-light mullioned and transomed window above a canted bay.
The school range is set back slightly and includes a gabled porch on the right, along with three stepped three-light windows. The projecting west gable balances that of the school house and has paired foiled lights on either side of a central buttress. There are remains of a bellcote on the roof of the schoolroom. Beyond this gable, there is a slightly later gabled range that is primarily built of brick.
