Description

Nos. 81-84 Frankwell is a row of four houses built in the later 19th century as a single development, although they incorporate elements from earlier buildings. The houses are constructed from brick and feature a heavy Welsh slate roof. They rise three storeys and have a four-window range, with each house functioning as a single unit. The outer doors are four-panelled, and the windows are four-pane sash types with cambered blue brick heads. The irregular spacing of the units and the misalignment of some upper and lower windows suggest the presence of an earlier core, while the central stack includes earlier brickwork. Additionally, timber-framing is exposed in the rear wing.
