Description
Crickheath Hall is a C17 farmhouse, with later additions and alterations. The construction is a mix of roughcast brick and timber frame, topped by a slate roof. It has an H-plan layout, with C19 rendered brick additions to the rear. The house is two storeys high, with attics in the cross-wings, and features a 1:3:1 bay arrangement. It contains glazing bar sash windows, including tripartite windows on the ground floor of the cross-wings. A gabled porch is situated in the center of the hall range, with a 6-panel inner door. There are large external sandstone stacks with red brick shafts to the cross-wings, and a similar stack to the rear gable of the left cross-wing. Irregularities in the render on the gables of the cross-wings suggest the attics may be jettied to the front. The interior was not inspected but is likely to be of interest.
