Description
House, dated 1785. The house is built of red brick in a Flemish garden wall bond, with a brick dentil eaves cornice. It has a clay tile roof with brick parapeted gable ends and integral brick gable-end stacks. The building follows a single-depth plan with rooms on either side of a central entrance, and a service wing off-centre to the rear.
The two-storey and attic building has a symmetrical three-bay front. It retains original three-light wooden mullion-transom windows with cambered arches, iron casements, leaded panes, and horizontal glazing bars. The central doorway has a six-panel door and a canopy. A small tablet inscribed “J and M Bradney 1785” is located under the eaves at the centre. Attic windows are in the end gables. The right-hand gable end has blind windows on the left and a twelve-pane sash on the right, with an 18th-century casement window with leaded panes in the attic above. The rear elevation features a small 18th-century casement window to the right of centre. A lower service wing is to the right of centre, with casement windows, and a later timber lean-to outbuilding is located in the angle on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
