Description
No. 7 is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. They likely date from the late 17th century and were remodelled in the late 18th or early 19th century, possibly by the architect John Nash. The structure is timber framed with painted brick infill and has a rendered front, topped with a thatched roof. It probably consists of two framed bays and has been remodelled in the Gothick style. The building is one storey high with an attic and features integral brick end stacks. There is a central eyebrow eaves dormer that contains a segmental-headed two-light diamond-leaded casement window. The front has two windows, which are two-light diamond-leaded ogee-headed casements with Y-tracery, and there are a pair of central boarded doors. This cottage is part of a picturesque village scheme that includes Nos. 3-6 Atcham.
