Description

The estate bridge, located approximately 120 metres southeast of Attingham Park, was built in 1780 by William Hayward. Constructed from grey sandstone ashlar, it features a single round arch with a raised architrave and a projecting keystone. The bridge is flanked by square piers and has retaining walls that curve out to square end-piers with chamfered caps. A string course runs along the solid coped parapet. The bridge, which spans the River Tern at the lower end of a lake formed by the river within the park, has also been attributed to Robert Mylne according to the Shropshire Magazine.
