Description

Framley Cottage and Barset Cottage are a pair of cottages located in Longnor, dating from the mid- to late 17th century, with early 20th century and late 20th century alterations and additions. The cottages are timber framed with painted brick and plastered infill, along with painted brick additions, and feature a plain tile roof. The framing consists of square panels. The buildings are one storey with an attic, showcasing gabled semi-dormers and a gabled eaves dormer on the right, all fitted with 2-light wooden or metal casements. There is an integral brick end stack on the left, an external pebbledashed brick end stack on the right, and a brick stack just behind the ridge, off-centre to the left.

The front has four windows; to the right are early 20th century paired small-paned wooden casements, while to the left are segmental-headed 2-light metal casements. There is a small staircase window off-centre to the right and a 2-light attic casement beneath the eaves off-centre to the left. The entrance features a roughly central half-glazed 20th century door, with a lean-to brick porch off-centre to the left that includes a small casement window at the front and a boarded door on the left-hand return. A 20th century brick addition is set back to the right, featuring a ground-floor 2-light metal casement. There is also a lean-to addition and a late 20th century gabled wing at the rear. The interiors have not been inspected but are likely to be of interest.
