Description
The stone circle at Temple Wood in Weston Rhyn, dating from around 1850 to 1860, was created for the owner of The Quinta. It is built of limestone and is designed similarly to Stonehenge, featuring an outer circle of upright stones, known as orthostats, topped with a continuous curving lintel made of linked capstones, some of which have fallen. Inside, there is a U-shaped arrangement of trilithons, some of which are paired. Many of the upright stones have drill-holes, and the lintels are secured with iron ties. The stone circle is partially in ruins, which may have been the original design intention. The Quinta, a house from the same period, is not included in this listing.
