Description
Middleton Lodge is a building from the 18th century and later, with alterations dated 1845. It has an L-shaped plan and features a partly plastered stone exterior, a slate roof, and brick stacks. The building has deep eaves and consists of two and three storeys. The windows include sash and casement types, with the sashes having keyblocks and the casements featuring segmental heads. The front has five windows, and the main doorway is topped with a fanlight. Notably, there is a Catholic chapel on the top storey, which is a good example of a chapel from the Penal Times, complete with a low plaster dome over the altar.
