Description
No 4, Barratts Hill is a house that was formerly dated 1741 on a plaque above the entrance. It is built of Flemish bond brick and has a plain tile roof with brick end stacks. The house features a 2-unit plan, with the entrance located in the larger part on the right. It has one storey and an attic, with a two-window range. There are segmental arches over a 20th-century panelled door, which is flanked by two-light casements. A raised storey band is present, along with a moulded stone corbel supporting the date plaque. The mid-19th century gabled dormers have segmental-arched two-light casements. To the left, there is a mid-19th century lean-to. Inside, the house features a stop-chamfered beam and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressummer and a bread oven in the right house part.
