Description
Lower Welton Farmhouse is a Grade II* listed building with an H-shaped plan. The west cross-wing dates from the 14th or 15th century, while the central hall block was rebuilt in the 16th century, and the east wing is from the early 17th century. The structure is primarily timber-framed, but the south front has been largely refaced in brick, and the east wing is mainly constructed of rubble. The farmhouse has two storeys, attics, and cellars, featuring a large stone stack and roofs made of slate and tile. Lower Welton Farmhouse, along with the hop kilns and barn, forms a cohesive group.
