Description

Buckenhill Manor is a large red brick house, largely of circa 1730, although incorporating fabric from an earlier building. The front elevation features a central pedimental gable, a moulded stone cornice, and a Victorian brick parapet with gabled dormers and finials. The roof is steeply pitched slate with gable ends. The house has two storeys and an attic, with nine windows containing mostly renewed 18-pane sashes with flush boxing. A moulded brick string course runs along the first floor level. The central entrance has a rectangular fanlight, a broken pediment, and Corinthian columns. A rendered and castellated Victorian bay is situated on the left hand return. A stone wing extends to the rear, featuring a late 19th-century tower with a lantern.
