Description

The Plough Inn is a public house dating from the 17th century and later, located on the east side of Ross Road. It is two storeys high, constructed of stucco with a slate roof. The building features a shallow gabled wing on the right side of the front, which has a projecting upper storey. There is a decorative band at the bottom of the gable and above a panel that reads "The Plough, RD 1876." In the centre of this panel, there is a small carving of a man with a plough. On the left side of the wing, the entrance door is framed by an old round-headed oak frame. At the rear, the gabled wing reveals a long timber wall plate that is exposed. A passage runs through the house.
