The structure is a dam and sluices located 5 meters south-west of Pleasley Bridge, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and ashlar. The dam wall is approximately 3 meters thick and 20 meters wide, featuring a central cutwater that is flanked by single elliptical-arched sluices.
