Description

West Lodge and Gateway is a lodge and gateway built in 1763 by James Paine for the Duke of Norfolk. The structure is made of ashlar and features a hipped slate roof. It has plain sash windows with keystoned lintels and a single ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has three bays with an octagonal plan. The canted west front includes three windows, and above them, there is a central blank panel flanked by single windows. On the outside, there is a pair of matching rusticated gate piers.
