Description
Kirk House is a house built in 1684, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a pantile roof, which has a single external stepped wall stack and an axial brick ridge stack. The house follows a lobby entry plan and has a two-storey front with a plinth and a first-floor band. The front is irregular with four bays; it has an off-centre 19th-century plank door, two three-light casement windows with a single transom to the left, and a single similar window to the right. On the first floor, there are two three-light casement windows under the eaves. Inside, the house has beams with simple chamfered shield stops and a fireplace beam that is inscribed with "1684". The roof structure is of the through purlin collar and tie beam type, and there are mud and stud partitions.
