Description
The farmbuilding at Stainfield Hall is a threshing barn dating from 1707, with 20th-century alterations. It features red brick construction with limestone ashlar dressings and a pantile roof that is hipped to the west, adorned with decorated eaves. The north-east corner has ashlar quoins.
On the right side, the large threshing barn has a significant rectangular opening with a wooden lintel and plank doors. This opening is flanked by two single, blind, round-headed openings, with the upper parts blocked using 20th-century brick. To the left of the barn is a carriage opening with a segmental head, which has some 20th-century brick patching on the rounded jambs. Above this is an ashlar datestone inscribed with the year 1707.
There is a small shuttered round-headed opening to the left, along with a doorway beyond that has a segmental head and a plank door. A small rectangular window is also located to the left. The original barn roof remains intact, while a smaller, lower opening opposite the western opening of the barn has been blocked with 20th-century brick.
