Description

Church Farm House is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later additions in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is timber-framed and largely encased in red brick with a small stone plinth. The roof is tiled with pantiles, featuring a single ridge stack, brick coped steep pitched gables, and decorated eaves. The cottage is single storey with a garret. It has four irregular bays, with a low, early 19th-century single-storey stable attached to the south and a small 20th-century bay added to the north. A plain plank door is located on the front, alongside two 20th-century three-light UPVC casement windows to the south; two openings above are blocked. All these openings have segmental heads. A single 20th-century three-light casement is present on the north side. The south corner has ashlar quoins rising from ground level to halfway up the wall. The stable has two 20th-century UPVC casements, followed by a plank door, and a small fixed window. The rear of the building has 20th-century casements inserted throughout.
