Description
Pott's Cottage and the attached byre are a cottage and byre built in the 17th century, with later additions from the late 18th century, early 19th century, and 20th century. The building features red brick and blue lias, topped with a pantile roof that has two brick gable stacks and decorated eaves. The main part of the cottage is a three-bay block from the 18th century, with a lower two-bay block from the early 19th century to the north, and an early 20th-century byre with a hipped roof beyond.
The north end of the 18th-century block has a plain plank door, while the south side has two sliding sash windows, all three openings featuring segmental heads. Above the central window, there is a dormer with a sliding sash. The early 19th-century block has a plain plank door inserted to the south and a sliding sash window to the north, along with a small light beyond. The byre includes a large rectangular opening flanked by slit windows. The lower part of the south return is made of 17th-century blue lias, with an 18th-century red brick gable that has two brick bands above.
